Machinists work daily in our 20,000 square foot fabrication area. You will operate a CNC 3 axis milling machine, Bridgeport Mill, (program written by engineers and you collaboratively … we will train) and a small manual engine lathe. You will develop custom parts for products and prototypes. To achieve this, you will also be using hand tools and cutting equipment in a model shop environment. You will be making parts from stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and plastics. We are growing and will be bringing in new CNC mills/lathes and other equipment later this year. You will work closely in small teams with other experienced engineering and design personnel on electro-mechanical products and machine design projects. Daily responsibilities include machining, fabrication, and subassembly for low volume specialty designs. Must be able to work independently from blueprints and hold close tolerances on parts.
