Full-time employees are expected to work a 40-hour week with some flexibility in scheduling. Assemblers and Fabricators

We are looking for several talented fabricators and assemblers to assist with the manufacturing of our innovative designs and systems. Assemblers not only build/create but also ensure that we maintain high quality control during manufacturing. Team assemblers work together in lean manufacturing work groups. Sigma Design technicians do not necessarily specialize, but rather switch between tasks. Having employees learn multiple tasks enables Sigma Design to remain more productive while also enabling employees to learn new skills and providing a more interesting work experience and work environment.

Electrical Engineering & Controls Technicians

This position supports new design/build projects. Candidates will also develop systems, provide ladder diagrams and circuits, and build prototype circuits. The candidate must be creative and have strong analytical skills. Some prior manufacturing experience is preferred. This position requires a detailed-oriented person with a strong electro-mechanical aptitude, and we will provide hands-on design experience. The candidate will be required to build (under supervision) industrial control panels, systems and sensors.

Machinist/Mechanic

Machinists work daily in our 20,000 square foot fabrication area. You will operate a CNC 3 axis milling machine, Bridgeport Mill, (program written by engineers and you collaboratively … we will train) and a small manual engine lathe. You will develop custom parts for products and prototypes. To achieve this, you will also be using hand tools and cutting equipment in a model shop environment. You will be making parts from stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and plastics. We are growing and will be bringing in new CNC mills/lathes and other equipment later this year. You will work closely in small teams with other experienced engineering and design personnel on electro-mechanical products and machine design projects. Daily responsibilities include machining, fabrication, and subassembly for low volume specialty designs. Must be able to work independently from blueprints and hold close tolerances on parts.

Mechanical Engineers & Designers

Opportunities for qualified Engineers & Mechanical Designers with the enthusiasm and creative drive to make a difference. These positions require detailed-oriented design people with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on design experience. Responsibilities include providing detail designs and support. You will work closely in small teams with other experienced engineering and design personnel on mechanical product and machine design projects. You will perform 2D & 3D detail design and assembly using SolidWorks. We will support additional in-house training on these programs as well as CFD, MOTION ANALYSIS and FEA. You will provide mechanical strength calculations and select materials to support your design ideas, and develop creative designs that balance manufacturability, cost, and good shop practices.
