Did you know that not long ago, Sigma Design Company helped tackle a “hot” challenge for a fast- food chain company?
When a New Jersey company needed to ensure their warming tray could safely hold food at proper temperatures, Sigma Design Company applied its expertise in heat transfer analysis and simulation to evaluate performance.
Using a combination of analytical calculations and thermal simulation, the Sigma Design engineering team determined the exact heat power required, validated results with FEA, and identified the right components and control strategy to meet FDA safety standards.
From heat transfer analysis to fatigue analysis and full simulation services, Sigma brings 27 years of advanced engineering experience to every project—helping turn complex ideas into reliable, real-world solutions.
It’s just one example of how Sigma brings smart engineering—and a little heat— to solving real-world challenges.
Sigma Design Advances Welding Capabilities to Power the Future of Manufacturing
At Sigma Design, our weld shop is a critical driver of innovation, supporting the complex frames, structures, and precision weldments that form the backbone of the advanced products we bring to market. As we continue to evolve, we remain focused on expanding both our team and the technologies that enable smarter, more efficient manufacturing solutions.
Our highly skilled welders—certified through AWS and ASME—bring deep expertise in GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding across aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. This craftsmanship is complemented by ongoing investments in advanced welding technology designed to enhance quality, consistency, and performance.
Leveraging OTC welding systems with intelligent waveform control, we optimize pulse welding in real time based on material type, delivering cleaner welds, stronger joints, and greater repeatability. Our weld shop is equipped with a full suite of Lincoln, Miller, and OTC systems, allowing us to support a wide range of applications and meet the evolving demands of modern manufacturing.
At Sigma Design, we’re continuously advancing our capabilities to help bring the next generation of products to life.

Advanced Engineering Simulation for Optimized Product Performance
At Sigma Design Company, our licensed professional engineers utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as a cornerstone of our engineering simulation services. CFD is a sophisticated tool used to analyze the behavior of gaseous and liquid fluids, enabling us to solve engineering’s most complex challenges during new product development.
Our advanced engineering analysis covers a broad spectrum of applications, including: Flow Analysis: Examining external fluid flow around complex assemblies and internal flow through intricate cavities, such as heat exchangers. Advanced Engineering Simulation: Modeling fluid behavior to provide quick feedback on proposed designs well before the rapid prototyping services phase.
Structural Stress Simulation: Identifying how fluid pressure impacts the integrity of a part to prevent mechanical failure.
Our Featured Case Study of the Month: Equipment Loading and Transport Machine (Rotating Lift Cart)
Sigma designs and builds custom transport and loading/unloading machine for large manufacturer of decentralized power stations
The “Rotating Lift Cart” cart designed by Sigma Design for large manufacturer of decentralized power stations was created to assist fabricators and assembly technicians with moving their heavy test equipment from the final stages of the assembly line to the testing area, as well as assist with the loading and unloading of the equipment. The Rotating Lift Cart features an integrated scissor lift with a rotating table allowing the equipment to be loaded from either side of the machine at heights from 12” to 30”.
